are you looking for OEM or after market?... Nissan 3.7 (3.692) best price I found was everythingG35 $406 (even though I didn't buy from them)... 3.9 is after market (Nismo and another I believe) and much more expensive $1300+... Or Nissan 4.0 roughly same price as 3.7

Since you are MT 3.7 probably isn’t the best choice - 4.0 might be a good cost benefit

nope. 3.3, 3.5, 3.7, 3.9, 4.0 (I've even read that some are considering 3.1 and 4.1)... the taller gears 3.3 and 3.1 are only recommended if you are FI... our pumpkin is compatible with several other Nissan vehicles that use other gear ratios... so there are several options... I am AT (G35 sedan) and recently installed 3.7 - it's very worthwhile... If I were MT I would consider 4.0 (over 3.9 only because it's OEM, relatively easy to get and much cheaper than 3.9 which is aftermarket only).

Your low end will be great but high end will suffer slightly... cruising speed rpm will be higher resulting in decreased mpg... you might loose cruise control (the 3.7 from 3.3 did not loose cruise control)... if you're after low end acceleration I highly recommend!

yes... Andy at Perf Nissan did I think... not sure if he stayed with it. They originally had 3.7 listed on the nismo website and it was actually 4.0 (the current listing is correct though 3.7 is 3.7 and 4.0 is 4.0)... I think a few are going for it on my350Z... as time goes on I'm certain more and more MT will do it. It makes more sense (to me) that the $1300+ 3.9.

Edit - oops this is 350Z (thought i was on Driver)... if you search out here there are some threads about the 4.0

myNismo.com... or I'm sure West Covina Nissan could get one... any performance oriented dealer will probably get one... All dealers could (it's a Nissan gear set), but most would probably scratch their heads wondering "why do you want that?"

call Performance Nissan, they should be able to tell you... or find the vehicle it comes from (I think the X-Tera uses it but I'm not positive)...

The part number on my order reads:

38100-0C760 NISSAN 4.083 Ring And Pinion

Hope that helps. Not sure if any are available right now, I haven't received mine as of yet.

Central 20 makes a 3.9 FD set that can be had for around $400 plus the install kit. I got mine from Vivid but I imagine there are other vendors, too.

+1

I haven't researched this in a while but when I was considering it, I was leaning towards the Central 20 3.9.

The one thing that made me go another route though was that they recommend you spend another $250 on new bearings, nuts, etc.

I've got the 4.083 going on my Z. Just remember to get the Pinion seal or your car will be in the shop a couple extra days while they get one ordered.

Grrr.
