I'm going with the weapon-R because I had the Stillen prior to my JWT TT install. However, the piping of the JWT kit interferes with the Stillen engine damper. So, ever since then, I have been trying to find one that will fit. It appears the Weapon-R fits the bill (no pun intended)

I personally chose the Weapon-R damper because I've come to trust the quality of their products. Not that Stillen or any other brand are bad or anything, but I've used Weapon-R components before, and have come to trust their products. So, it's brand loyalty for me...

I got mine straight from Weapon-R; they were the cheapest, and shipped it out pretty quickly.

For those of you that have had the stillen dampener, is that an easy install? I'm sure it was not as easy as the WR install, but anyone have any experience?

Stillen was more difficult than the Weapon-R, because the mounting points are lower on the engine, and the front firewall/shock tower. The space you have to work in is much smaller, and I have big fat fingers and hands. I hand to enlist my wife's help, with her smaller fingers. However, it is not incredibly more difficult.

my topspeed (same as stillen) was such a ***** to get on. INVENTORY the peices before you attempt installation. you never know if you will be missing a bolt or a washer, etc.

it's so tight

I've heard the Stillen engine damper is not really a damper piston, it just looks like like a piston / shock absorber.

I don't know about the Weapon-R, I've never seen one in real life.

Dave - do you notice a difference between the two dampeners? Do you feel more vibrations with the stillen over the WR??

I just put the Weapon-R on two days ago, and I had been without the Stillen damper for about 6 months, so a comparison will be difficult to do. However, I do have a track day this Friday, so after that, I will try and post some more information.

No wonder he asked if that bracket was done by you or WR.... those welds are absolutely ugly.

yeah they are, but I didn't really care, since it hides under the engine cover. I probably could have done a better job, but oh well. As long as it works... right?

Is that the finished "for sale" product, or a prototype?

I've never heard of it being a prototype. Should be a final product.

Mounting points on the Stillen are completely different. Both the Weapon-R and the Stillen could fit on the engine at the same time. Might add a bit of stiffness. Probably not worth it, though.

On a side note, mine is for my G35, and the Weapon-R engine side mount for the G35 is much nicer and the welds are much cleaner. Probably because the G is such a luxury car...

Will this dampner work on the 07s as well? Looks like my dual intakes will be in the way.

Shifting gets very sloppy and does cause some grinding when going WOT.Have to slow my shifts down.Hope this thing helps.
