Default Help, Front Strut bar

So i have an 07 Z and last night i was installing the dual fujita intakes. Per the instructions i removed the front strut bar. After finishing everything up, of course due to the chasis flexing in a little the mounting holes don't line up anymore.:-(btw, buddy was there and we installed the intakes just fine without taking off the strut, DAMN FUJITA for putting that in the instructions)

anyone have any advice or tips on how to get this damn strut bar back on?

thanks

You can loosed up the tightness of the bar itself, install it, then re-tighten. Look at the bar and you'll be able to see how.

FWIW, mine never seems to quite wanna line up right after I remove it, but with a little jiggling, it seems to go on every time without having to loosen the bar.

Your supposed to jack up the front of the car, so it's completely off the ground. Then reinstall the strut bar. It works perfect everytime. No adjusting. This is how I've been taught and have read in the past years to do it. That's my advice.

Failsafe is not wrong. I just choose to do it different.

If I read it right I think he's talking about jacking it up using the flat spot that's right between your two front wheels. Just google 350z jack points and you'll find a few graphics showing you where.

Fyi, you may need to drive the front if your car up on something like a couple of 2x4s to give you the necessary clearance to get a jack under the front of the car.

yeah well the process didn't go as well as i hoped. Not only do i have the problem of the strut not fitting anymore, but now somehow I THOUGHT everything was fitting so i started bolting down. Bolts were twisting really nice and easy...next thing i know, i've cross threaded all the bolts.... JEEBUS!!!!!!!!!!! Damn fujita for telling me to take off the strut when it wasn't even necessary.... I'm just going to take the car to the dealer tomorrow and pay them assloads of money to fix the problem.

Yes, use both of the jacking points. You can use the center if you get to it. But to me that's more dangerous if on the ground. That's what I use, but I own a lift now. Sorry about the misfourtune with the bolts. I'm one of the worlds worse when it comes to cross threading.

Why don't you just undo the 2 nuts and adjust the length until it goes on right?

Why *** with adjusting the strut bar? After all there was a group of Japaneese mechanical engineers who setup the car, maybe you know more than Nissan..........
