How easy to get Z in the 12s?
hi, i am currently torn between a Z and the lotus exige s. I like the huge aftermarket of the z, but like the mid to high 12sec stock 1/4 mile times of the exige. My question is, how easy and what mods are necessary to get a z in the 12s in the quarter. Must of my racing is done at the drag strip so that would be the most desirable setup for me. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

exige costs alot more though. For the same cost you can TT your z and run 11's

well the exige s isent really a drag car. you should be comparing road racing times. where the Z dosent stand anykind of a chance. but just remember the lotus has the interior of a race car basically

Real easy with out all the exhaust crap and Forced induction.
1.) 3.90 or 4.083 gears
2.) Drag slick
3.) Fujita, Nismo, AEM intake - ice down tubes and intake before run
4.) Cat-back - if you want
This should put you into the 12.90 range with traction.
100 Shot of Dynotune = low 12's with traction

dont buy a exige unless your planning on just using it on the track. not a very comfortable car. an exige is gunna run u about 56k, a brand new z is gunna go about 30, with an extra 16k sitting around, you could probibly make 500hp out of the Z if done right.

Like everyone says FI is the best route of you want big gains. However if you just want a mid 12 sec car i think the 07s can def get into high 12s NA and mid 12's with slicks. I ran 13.5 stock. Plus the new 07s seem to respond better to breathing mods than the previous year Z's.
