Default Carbonetics and Quaife LSD owners

Hey guys, I don't want to make this a "which is best" post but I am about to purchase one of these.

I need to know your experiences with either of them.

I want something that is decent for the "weekend" warrior...maybe 1 or 2 times a month on the track, but want something that I will hardly know is there...

I have an 2007 base. Cost is relatively no object...

Quaife for me. I had the Nismo and Stock VSLD to compare.

Personally comming from a base model myself, it was the more logical thing to do when you consider money, however you stated money is no object.

I would say both are really good, and will probably out last the car. Carbonetics being carbon it lasts longer, and Quaife with its Lifetime warrenty.

Both are great LSD's so honestly you cant go wrong with either one.

I highly recommend the Quaife LSD. It's quiet, smooth, and ohhh so effective. (also ohh sooo expensive)

I have done many auto-cross events with my quaife and have noticed that having the outside tire get most of the power in a turn helps the car rotate through turns. (kind of like mild 4-wheel steering?)

I have never driven a clutch-type LSD but I can't imagine another LSD being any smoother.

both are great units

If its going into a base, I'd go for the Quiafe - drop in install, seamless integration and less maintenance.

^^Agreed^^ Base model...get the Quiafe...VLSD...get the Carbonetics. This will keep your costs down, and both are terrific units.

How does the Cusco LSD "rate" among all these units ??
I've heard that the Carbonetics clutches start to deteriorate after
a while. Is this true ?? Anyone ?

rate in terms of? If you do a search (I know, I know) there are lots of reviews of all the units out there

I can't speak for every dealer, but I've never sold a set of replacement disks for a Carbonetics LSD yet - they have been every bit as reliable as every other diff on the market though they do want more frequent oil changes than the other ones

This is good news !!
Rate...Cusco vs. Carbonetics.
Which would hold-up better ?
Would the Cusco be "less" maintenance (aside from the more
frequent diff. oil changes) ?
Noise isn't really the issue with me. Strength and Durability are !

I think my previous post really address these questions already - both are excellent units, neither is better than the other. Both are smooth, reliable, have never failed that I've ever heard of, and are all around great units.
