Default Trans noise

My 06, Track model, with the clutch out, in neutral has bearing noise, similiar to bad input shaft noise. the dealer said "Nissan used alot of straight cut gears in the tranny and they make alot of noise". Sounds doubtful to me, any help would be appreciated.

Its the throwout bearing, its very noisy in our cars, notice how the sounds go away when you push the clutch in? Unless the car develops driving issues, such as excessively notchy gearbox, and gear grinding, you should be ok.

Think of it as an undocumented feature. That's what I do and I now sleep better at night.

I have the whistling noise only on the highway and it gets loud at 80mph with like a neutral throttle input. Is there any way to quiet this down?

I had the dealership replace the clutch and the entire trans with it and I have the same noise I did to begin with. I really think it's just inherent with these cars. My real question is what sound deadening has anyone done to remedy the situation as parts will not fix a thing.

have the exact same thing mentioned above: whistle at neutral throttle input while at highway speeds. You accelerate just a bit and the sound disappears, only to return the instant the engine is no longer under stress. Only thing I have found that works is to upgrade stereo and turn up the sirius.
