Default Taking turns question, some unsettling behavior

Hi guys,
I've been driving a Base Z for a few months now and I think I am getting used to how the car behaves, especially on the traction side. I do have a specific question about handling mid to low speed sharp turns and the behavior I am seeing. I hope someone can shed some light on this and explain to me why I am seeing this. I am knowledgeable about cars so feel free to get as technical as you'd like Here's my setup:

1. Base Z
2. Stock suspension
3. Stock tires, 50% tread

Driving scenario:

1. Driving about 30mph
2. Take a sharp, 90 degree turn,
3. Constant throttle input
4. The rear end seems to be on a verge of sliding out
5. At the completion of the turn, I experience a slight power jerk which seems to favor the inside wheel

My questions:

Why am I seeing #5? Am I lifting the inside wheel slightly and once I complete the turn I am a victim of the open diff?

Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You're on the throttle during turn in?

I doubt you are lifting a tire, but my 05' base used to have a similar "grab" once the weight transfer from a turn was removed. (when the turn was "complete") I do think it was a product of the open diff.

While in a turn, the inside tire has very little weight on it and the open diff sends it the power. (path of least resistance) When the turn is complete, the tire that was getting the power, (and was probably spinning) suddenly gets some weight and traction. If that tire "hooks up" before slowing to the cars actual speed, the car will grab or "jerk" for a moment. (before the open diff has a chance to find the new path of least resistance)

I have a Quaife now and have no such issues any more.

With your differential, the axle may be delivering torque to the tire that does not have traction: the inside rear.

Mediocre tires.

You are just going too fast.

Thanks for the info guys. I suspected the diff was at fault here. The stock tires aren't the best but I've had worse. I guess now I truely understand why at least an LSD is key in these type of situations.

Mine was about 1800 installed. You can get the Quaife a little cheaper, but it's the most expensive I have seen of all LSD's. (It works very well though)

can the dealer do it so I won't void the warranty?

also can you buy the part yourself. I'm looking at the Quaife

#5 possibly sounds like late power transfer to the wheel that has more traction

I guess it depends on the dealer, but it's not a Nismo part, so the warranty for the diff will only covered by Quaife. I can't imagine the quaife causing a failure for other parts on the car so your warranty should be fine for the rest of the car. ( as long as you don't get stuck with a bad dealership)

I had the Quaife installed by Japtrix. It's so smooth and quiet, the dealear doesn't even know it's there. I just leave it at that.
