Hey guys, I searched around and couldn't find anything- would appreciate some input if anyone has any.
Yesterday when I parked the car I noticed that after the car was shut off there was a loud "popping" noise that would come from under the car, behind the engine (near tranny). It's like oil dropping into the pan, only about 50 times louder. You can hear it across the parking lot.
It pops about once every four seconds for about thirty seconds and eventually stops- it seems like it has something to do with the engine/exhaust cooling down.
It also happens when the car is running, but only when the engine heats up all the way. Could this be bad catalytic converters or something? Any ideas?
Thanks.
