Default 07 rpm fluctuating

I noticed the other day while driving on the free way that when I am cruising at oh say 4500 rpm(it happens through all rpm above 2k) and i jump on the gas the
rpm will jump up a little like two hundred or so and then come back down and proceed to accelerate through rpm's. Has not happen to me before only has about 6k on the car. I find it to be really strange when trying to accelerate hard because it will rev and then its almost like it bogs down to its initial rpm that I was cruising at and will accelerate normally after that. Does this all the time now and can not figure out why please help.

Do you have TCS? The only thing that comes to mind the tires are breaking loose then the computer cuts the gas.

That almost sounds like clutch slip, but I don't see how an '07 can have that kind of wear already. Are you sure the clutch is fully engaged when you're accelerating? (assuming this is a manual) ... if it is, is there any other strange clutch play that may tie into this, such as the '07 clutch problem that people have been having? This may be a good first indicator if so.

okay I have a 07 manual base so no tcs.. when this happens, the clutch is all the way out so its just in gear an cruising.. hard to explain so i made a quick video.. it seems that it may be my clutch slipping not sure though.. if i am in a low gear and am cruising at say 2k rpm and jump on it, it will litterally jump a thousand rpm and come back down where as if I am in 5th gear and cruising 4500k rpm it will only fluctuate maybe a couple hundred rpm . also i am never taking my foot off the accelerator

definitely clutch slip, you probably need the clutch fix that most 07 owners are getting at the dealer. I'm not too sure on the details, but it's something like replacing the slave cylinder

and you may need a whole new clutch and flywheel as well...

don't know if this is related to the assist cylinder prob which I had fixed. The assist issue is the clutch falling to the floor and not disengaging the tranny. I never experienced any slippage which indicates the tranny 'is' disengaging.

Regardless take it to the dealer. Its brand new after all and they will fix it. Just let us know what it was so we know what to look for.

Yeah, although it's a clutch issue, I don't see how it could tie into the leaky slave cylinder problem or whatever it is. Almost seems like it's the opposite way around.

I hope it's not just a worn clutch from an inexperienced manual driving feathering the clutch too much while engaging it. Good luck.

well i was driving home last night and i went to downshift to get off the freeway and plop.. there goes the clutch all the way to the floor... funny thing is i think this time the clutch really was just burnt out.. but wats also funny is what you guys are talking about now also happend to me at only like 500miles on the car the clutch went to the floor and would not let me go in gears.. took it to the dealer, they fixed it and said that there was no fluid in the clutch line! they said that when the cars come from the factory they go through a pre-inspection which they do things like prep that cars before they get to the dealership and my car just happen to not have that category prepped.. strange i know

Sounds like you have the dreaded 07 clutch slave cylinder leak. Don't worry, your pedal will screw up again and they will have to tear apart the car.

It's good to know that clutch slip is a warning sign with the 07 clutch issue.

Ok i have a base 06 mt with the same issue. I freaked when this happened to me on my way to work about a week ago. Only thing is that my car dips down more when i floor it. Really strange. I am actually changing my clutch and flywheel next week, i will post and let you know if the problem continues or is fixed.
