I have an 05 base 6mt 36k miles. Its been about 3 weeks that I noticed this. When driving I hear a humming noise coming from the rear (I believe from the diff). I can hear it the most when driving from 35-50mph. Its not loud but its getting annoying.

Does anyone know what could it be?

Diff may need new shims. Backlash could be off, but this is just a guess.

 

got the wrong fluid in there?

 

i could be plenty of things. Bad tires, rust built on rear rotors..etc.

 

thanks for the replies. i have not changed the diff fluid yet, the rotors and pads were changed about a month ago and i just bought tires this week.
