I was wondering how some of the people know exactly how many quarts they are missing? Do you add oil until it's in between the lines on the dipsticks and look at how many quarts you used? I was just curious about this.
Would your oil pressure be much lower if you are having low oil?

1 quart per 1K miles seems to be the going rate. 3 quarts low at 3K miles...give or take.

Every engine has some oil consumption, the question is how much even evaporates [10-15%] between changes and get burned as vapor vs how much slips by the rings and gets burned via that method.
