You are going to love the new transmission. It's a huge improvement.

oh yeah, i'll be there, this install ain't gonna pay for itself

the job is pretty chill, and there are some decent looking ladies who also work there, but i guess you dont have to worry about that. i've never walked with less than $110 on a friday night. the hours can be kinda ghey on thursday and friday nights, but the money definitely makes up for it.

final update (hopefully)

i took my car to the dealership at noon today and by 5:30 the Z was back in my possession. the new gearbox feels great, but i noticed that they didnt put the exhaust on correctly, becuase it sounds slightly different, but in a good way. and, even though i didnt request it they put the latest "009" type transmission in. all in all im pretty happy with how it turned out.

they had to put in the cd009, its the latest revision. Did you ask them about the clutch pedal assembly and clutch replacement?

hows it feel? ive never driven a 350z with a good gear box.

Make sure your exhaust is still a nismo You didnt see me up there, but i swapped some parts...........

now for those mfgdw TWINS!

the cd009 is the version they installed, but the invoice doesnt reflect any changes made to the pedal assembly, so i'm assuming that they left that part alone. the car feels great, the exhaust just sounds a little funny since they didnt put it on right. i saw the chase at the dealership by chance today, and he was having some work done, he told me he planned to throw a few bucks at you for his N02 install.

but stupid me, i forgot to tell them about my rear alxe clicking, so i need to go back next week to get that resolved, and then after that, i should be good to go for the twins!

awesome, cant wait to come get your nismo muffler too! let me know when youre getting the axles done Did you see we got the lots back in clemson, we can autox again!! woot

The tranny is the main thing! does it shift much smoother? Easy to get into reverse? my only gear that is good is 4th.

1st is sometimes hard to get into
2 is notchy as hell
3rd grinds occasionally, only when cold
4th butter
5th grinds when its cold
6th just a pita to get in sometimes
reverse, sometimes i have to try a few times for it to go in

yeah, it shifts a good bit smoother, and the clutch is lighter than before, but i think the clutch in my 1st transmission was unusually heavy/stiff. i did miss that we got the lots back. after the club meeting i went to i thought for sure auto-x at clemson was a thing of the past. i think im gonna try to get my axles greased sometime next week after my school stuff settles down.
