Default getting rid of my a/c

Well it is official, my a/c system is completely shot. Mt compressor is dead and i don't want to shell out $1000+ to get a new one installed. I went this entire past summer without it and my z will be my daily driver for only about 2 more years before i make it just a toy.

My question is, should i pull out the compressor and other a/c related stuff?

How much does it all weigh?

Any info would be great.
Thanks

i dont think the weight difference will have a substantial impact in reference to performance, but if your not using it, clip the belt.

i just figured it would have less pull on the belts and a small weight savings.

anyone know how much the system weighs?

if you pulled the entire system (which will be fun!) youd save quite a bit of weight. Ask quamen, i believe his ac is removed.

we have done this on many cars, the compressor is probably around 20 pounds, the condensor is nothing, the evap and all the stuff under the dash is pretty heavy, maybe 35-40 pounds.

you will save some hp by not having to turn the AC compressor at all. if you dont care about driving around hot sometimes, yank it out!!

Thanks for the reply, this might be a stupid question but will this effect my heating system in the winter, because it gets damn cold here in indy for a few months.

also how hard is it to pull out all of the a/c stuff?
