To the people that believe AWD is on it's way: your opinion would be 2004 models or 2005 models? I guess and easier way to ask this Question would be... is the G35 2004 or 2005 model supposed to have AWD? Since the package would (for all intents and purposes) be the same.

It depends on when the Nissan Skyline GTR is coming out again. It will be on the same FM platform as the Z and G35C. As you know the GTR is AWD. So 2005 probably, because I doubt Nissan will get the ball rolling for Japan and America at the same time.

I just read about the pikes peak 350s and apparently they have AWD and the skyline engine. Not that I assume it was cheap, but it has been done already, I'm trying to get in touch with these guys to find out some specifics. Let me know if you hear anything.

Ok you can call this BS or whatever, but here it goes. There is at least one G35 Coupe AWD here in the US, specifically in Cali for anyone who already knows. Supposedly this person has a lot of hookups in the industry and somehow got it special ordered. This car has already been sponsored by Injen , Greddy and tons of others. I didn't believe it at first but trust me, that thing is AWD.
Well...japan has g35 sedan with 4wd...so i guess he somewhat modified from the sedan to the coupe

I am willing to bet what you saw was a new skyline VQ33 motor dropped into the 350Z. I am pretty sure the new skyline motors being developed are VQ33.

Any other opinions? I'd love to see the photo, if yo have it and a scanner or digicam.

The G35 Sedan will be out this fall (lets just see). Also, the coupe and Z AWD would be nice, but the added cost would put the G and Z to over price territory. These cars are sold by bang for the buck. But who nows? I drive all over the country and have the coupe with winter tires, I do just fine. And for the summer, I do just fantastic. I do not want AWD. I want more power. To me AWD is less power. I will not rally the G. Also, I am not sure the FX comparison is a good one. There's much more clearance under the FX for the AWD componets. Also, have you priced one - wow!

Here are a couple posts from over at Twinturbo.net that may be of interest. Some pics of a suspected AWD 350Z for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Some interesting info, to say the least. This says nothing of it being a factory offering, but it does show that it might be a possibiility.
