nothin a sleeved vq wouldnt handle...the stock heads flow better than 2jz...and of course more displacement...

the ony thing gained is really engine bay space to put a big turbo.

Yeah i know. The 2j stock is 238 and the VQ is 266 on the intake at .450 of lift. It seems like a decent difference, but is it really that much better? Seeing how a ported supra head is over 300 just like a VQ.

SPV (swirl port velocity) > CFM

Don't get caught up in the cfm game. There are more important factors in producing hp (combustion chamber design / spv / port angle) than how much you can squeeze through ports.

Default Its Been DOne

I had a friend who had a rb26dett with a single turbo conversion done to his z. It has been done and i will actually be doing that swap on my z in a couple of months with a six speed tranny. if your friend spent 25k and was not able to do it he should hang himself i would hate life if i spent 25k and was not able to accomplish anything. You could put any motor in anything as long as you got the money.

isn't it amazing.. two people with the name Fairlady Z33 from Miami ditched their VQ's for motors that will make less power

Your right! But hey who cares what i do with my money. unless your gonna build it for me then ill let you put w/e you want in my Z. And i am a big fan of The RB i had a 240 with a RB and it was a great motor. Dont hate. I dont tell you what to build and even if you were to build something shitty i would not care cause your the one driving it.

Personally, if I could do any swap/conversion, it would be the one the guys that are making/did make the Z AWD.
