Default oil pressure almost 120 at idle

I think the gauge may be defective because it reads 40psi when the car is off, so of reads 40psi higher than usual... At least that's what I'm hoping...

Well I know the oil pressure is greater when it's cold but it's pretty much always above 60psi at idle.... Oil pressure wouldn't be maintained when the motor is off right? I have a vortech supercharger and i took out the oil feed line and started the car to make sure oil was flowing (which it was) and I kept it disconnected, turned off the car, and checked the pressure and it was still 40psi when the motor was off...

I'm drunk.

But I was sober when I made the observance...

How do you know you weren't drunk then, if you're drunk now and just don't remember? You live in OC? Shouldn't you be out driving?

Pull the wire going to the sensor , see if it drops to 0 , if so , buy a new sensor. If not , you have bigger problems with whatever controls that system.
