Service Engine Soon Light on Help!!!!
Dealers will always try to charge you a 'diagnostic' fee since they had their mechanic spend time on it. makes sense but if they find something easy that you can do yourself, they'll stick ya for tryin to save yourself some loot by doing it yourself. I saw them charge a lady 45 bucks to tighten her gas cap when her check engine light came on...
Unless the service is 100% covered by warranty, impossible to get out of a dealer without paying something.
Like I said, it's most likely because of your mods and you can't really do anything about it without a tune.

I have been to the dealer at home a few times without paying anything not even for a rental car. This one probably didn't even go in the shop. The a$$holes didn't even clear the code.

lol i was worried about voiding mine also till i called them and got it in writting.... then again i also went ahead and voided it any ways when i went FI mwahahah..........
None of them void it if they don't cause something to break, but they will blame almost anything on your mods. I have heard too many horror stories of dealers saying how a intake caused the problem when I never could have.
hey ryan you should check your testpipe , are you using nonfoulers ? if not that's gonna throw an engine check light . turbo xs tp seem the crack if you tighten up the hanger too tight. good luck man.

WHOA I said don't touch I'll be there soon and I get there and they make up some bull about a shop fee of 80$ that I was told about. When I dropped it off I made sure I wasn't going to be charged anything and he assured me of that. So I told him how that couldnt be what it was and I'm not paying because you don't know whats wrong so you make up that it's the air filter. They try to tell me that they can reflash my ECM he say I correct him by saying ECU and saying no you cant. I can reset it by just disconecting the battery for a few minutes and some smarta$$ says we have a 6000 dollar machine to do that son. I argued for a while and the service manager finally said she would make it where I only had to pay 45 dollars and at this point I didn;t care cause I was late for class. I should have listened to another member NEVER GO TO PAT PECK IN MOBILE AL.
so i guess there's no getting away with the P1273 and P1283 (MANUFACTURER CONTROL: AIR FUEL METERING) error codes when getting add ons on vehicle i.e. intake/HFC/catback exhaust/FI??? even with ecu reflash/ecu mngt. system??? I just wanted to clarify that this will not cause any other problems for N/A cars besides getting a really shitty mileage 15mpg? or a messed up O2 sensors??? thanks...
I checked under my car yesterday if there's any leak, but everything seems to be well connected. And I modified my non foulers yesterday and I used to get 15-17MPG city driving and after the slight mod, i'm getting 20-22mpg, but the light goes off at 4-6miles instead of 15-25miles...

After almost two years with test pipes and no SES, the light started showing a couple of weeks ago. I got a local shop to clear the code twice already and they show back up immediately. We checked the codes both times and they're the 02 sensors. Do I need to replace anything? Or do I just need to learn to deal with this light? I really do not want to reinstall my cats since my entire exhaust system aftermarket (headers, test pipes, TD, etc.).
