Default 2004 to have 300 hp?

I've "this" close to buying a 350 Z Track model, but I was recently told by an insider that Nissan may be coming out with the 350 Z with upgraded hp to 300 this fall (2003)... Does anyone have any better details on this?

300HP at the wheels or at the flywheel. If it's at the flywheel, most exhausts can give you that. And oh yeah, don't believe anything the dealer says, they are always bs'ing.

This is complete BS. Maybe they will offer a package for 300hp, but it will not come with 300hp.

Even if its true it not hard to gain 13 crank hp. All it takes is a good exhaust. Anyways its the same engine so there wont be much diff except maybe less restrictive breathing or advanced timing. Your better off buying now because those 03's are stacking up at dealers lots and you can prolly get one around invoice. The 2-4 thousand youll save over the 04 can get you a lot more than 13 hp.

thanks... it's good to know...

next question then... you're all the experts here... I priced out the track model at about $37,500 (fully loaded) on the Nissan website... do you think it is unreasonable to go to the dealer and ask for it for $35,000?

Fully loaded probably means you added the Nav system, maybe leather seats and a CD changer (not sure if you can do all that online!). Anyway, I paid $34,040 for a Track model with side curtain airbags, floor mats, trunk mat, door sill intserts and that's it. So, based on that, I'd say $35k is reasonable, especially since the gee-whiz factor is starting to wear off a little.

Go for it and enjoy the new car!!!

yeah, I added everything... leather, DVD Nag, CD changer, aluminum things on the door steps, etc... I'm going to wait to see what my bonus is like in June, if it's good... the 350 will be MINE!!! {{{Sinister Voice}}}
