Recently my car (06' RevUp) started to knock pretty bad. Well I think it was "rod knock", not sure. It would sound like something loose or rattling coming from the plenum area. It wouldnt do it at higher rpms, instead betweem 2k - 3.5k. I noticed a vaccum leak coming from the top of the plenum. I was missing one of the top plenum bolts from when I removed my MREV and spacer. So I purchased a bolt, put that **** in there and drove to WCN. On my way there the "knocking" sounds went away and WCn could not verify or duplicate the noise. Everything seems fine now. Any ideas?? WOuld a mising top plenum bolt cause a problem???

I noticed it mainly happened when the rpms were coming down. If I kept the car at 3500 rpm's it would just sounds like a bunch of bolts rattling inside a tin can coming from the plenum area. Everything is fine now, but Im still worried about what that was. Do you think I may have ruined something by driving my car that way for about a week? That bolt pretty much took care of the issue and Nissan couldnt verify the problem. I cant duplicate it anymore either.
You said you were missing a top plenum bolt? I suggest you unbolt your top plenum and retighten in the order and specs that came with your mrev. This would make sure that you don't have any small leaks.

Yeah I still have to do that. I dont have the instructions anymore but I think I can download them from motordyne's website. What do you guys think though? Could it have been due to the vaccum leak coming from that missing bolt? I ran my car that way for quite some time and just now it became an issue.
