Issues after Camshaft install.
the throttle plate is the brass plate in the middle that opens and shuts, dont drill a hole in it, actually shave a bit of material off the back side of the plate to raise the idle on it.
this should only be done on 04.5s or cars with serious cams that the cipher doesnt fix with 250 more rpms...

The throttle body plate is what opens and closes to let air in and out of the engine. People usually drill a hole in it when they cant get the car to idle with big cams or use engine managment without a fast idle air valve.

Nice, I love all of this info! I have an date with the dealer on the 19th to get the idle raised to about 850 or so. This is with nismo cams in the car. I am throwing the P0300 code currently. Will increasing the idle get rid of the stalling after a pressing in the clutch while in the high RPM range or reving under no load and letting the the RPMs drop fast. The car does not currently catch itself in those type if situations and stalls. It idles low, but not to the point where it is missing.

P0300 = Random Misfire. Hmmm, not sure what to say here. Some have tried the HKS Spark amplifier with good results. Others have tried it and didn't work. I usually associate that code with the FI guys though.... I think most of the FI guys just live with that code if they get it.
I am kinda leaning towards the code being thrown because the car stalls out multiple times. Causing it to think that it is missfiring. The car drives normal as far as I can tell. Through all gears and RPMs. I have read alot that cams can throw the code, along with FI.
hummmmm, Not sure. I know it is possible. the car only has 19,900 miles on it though. Besides getting a new coil pack and testing each cyl. what other way is there to check?
yah, That would end up costing me a fortune there on the 19th.
Im pretty convinced it is trigged by the stalling of the car. If the code continues after I bump the idle up I will make a friend at one of the dealers and try to get my car in w/o paying for all kinds of tests.

I think you might be getting the random misfire code because the engine is stalling out... the cylinder firing becomes random.
If you are wanting to monitor cylinders and check codes and things like that, Cipher might be a good purchase for you. It's a great tool... pretty much a clone of Nissan's Consult2. Here's a link to UpRev's web site.

Cipher is $400 and you can get Osiris bundled with it for $700. I have found both to work well. I've used Cipher to bump the idle on several FI cars.
Note that I am not connected with UpRev in any way. I just like their products.
