Default Oil starvation under hard braking

I just noticed that when braking hard and cornering, the oil pressure gauge would basically drop to zero, and the oil light would come on (the car even shut off once). Oil pressure at idle and above is within the service manual limits. I checked the oil level and its at the high line and there is no oil leaking on the ground. Major engine mods is a Greddy TT. I'm not sure if there is a oil spacer or not. If so would a oil spacer help?

does anyone by chance know where the oil pressure sensor itself is actually located?

A baffled aftermarket oil pan will fix the issue... (APS, ARC, Power Enterprise, Greddy, Etc...)

Before spending money, check your oil level, lots of these cars use oil between oil changes, you may be low.

Hmmm this is concerning. I brake very hard at the track (it's where I catch up to those fast Porsche's!), I'll have to keep an eye on the guage next time, without flying off the track in the process. I've noticed the guage seems to lag a little bit. I've watched it through some long, hard sweeper turns before. I've seen the pressure drop, but not all the way to zero, and definitely no oil lights came on.

Hey thanks, well i checked it again and low and behold it was low. The first time i checked it i only had a minimag and i've only had the car for 2 weeks so i wasnt aware of how crappy the dipstick really was. Now with some real lighting what i thought was full was just all the residual oil and not the actual oil level i originally thought it was. Thanks again!

Yes, i was very concerned. "Hard" braking and turning on the street is in no way comparable to the track, yet the pressure was dropping and oil light came on. which had me thinking something is definitely not right, especially for a sports car. After adding some oil, the oil pressure is way better now.

I'm not sure about the oem oil pressure sending unit, but the oem water temp sensor only polls every 60 secs.

Wow.. interesting. How do you know this? Maybe the Uprev guys can change it to poll more often.
