^+1 Because with the myriad of bad tranny threads floating around, the one thread any Nissan brass paying attention to the my350 community is going to be one simply labelled "350z trans sucks ***"...

Default Yes they do, my brothers 06 tranny went out/whining at

at 15k miles, they replaced it and the new one was whining to. Service person said they all have that whining sond to them.
To be honest with you, its not the tranny its NISSAN They just suck these days, instead of finding the source of the problem and fixing it they just replace it with another one thats not been updated. I went with the same issues with my titan truck, an now im gonna buy something diff then nissan.

Get your facts straight, the Nissan built tranny (which is the automatic) is rock solid. The Toyota built tranny (which is your 6spd) is garbage. So blame, Toyota.

Default What are you talking about?

I simply said my brothers tranny went out at 15k on his 350z, and that i had lots of problems with my titan and nissan didnt fix it just replaced it with a part that was not updated or built better, via my diff, brakes, window regulater and such on. On top of that, i just installed a new nissan tranny in my 300zx 4 months ago and now its whining, so yeah when it comes to manuel tranny i wish nissan would build them as good as toyota did, hint hint supra 6spd, built by getrag but sold by toyota.

How old is the 6speed design? Perhaps it's due for an update and Nissan is really stretching it. Every year they don't do the R&D, it's money in the pocket.

My 03 which has been hailed the worst year for the tranny is holding up fine so far. I just have to be gentle when it's cold. I get a mild grind going into 2nd and 1st gear can be a little stubborn but once things get warm, it seems to be fine. It is a bit annoying and it seems like it's slowly getting worse.

I've heard pretty much only good things about the latest revision (#9) of the 6MT. Looks like Nissan is putting some effort into fixing issues (or there wouldn't be nine versions in 4 years). Why they couldn't get it right after try #2 or #3 is another issue...
