Back on topic. If you want to beat any stock 350Z and G35, get nitrous. Unfortunately, you have no choice who pulls up next to you at the traffic light, but whatever... A 75 shot is about as safe as driving in traffic, so I wouldn't worry about that. There are no other simple bolt-ons that will overcome your built-in handicap (the HR will spank you), or make up for driver skill.

Under 1k: the best bang for the buck is a plenum spacer and test pipes - maybe 15-20 whp bump that you will be able to feel. That's it - then upgrade to adjustable sway bars and you've hit the low hanging fruit.

Test pipes stink though (literally) so I'd probably pass on that if I were to do it again.

Oh yes, change the rear diff fluid out if you haven't already. You can reduce drivetrain loss going with some good stuff in there (redline, royal purple, etc).

Nothing like FI though - to put you in the back of your seat - and empty your wallet.

a bolt on z isnt that bad, my brother had an sti and got beat by a bolt on 06, i think it was test pipes, y pipe, catback, motordyne spacer, pulleys and a tune, and he ran a 13.3 @ 104 in the sti.

It looks like I'll just be doing:

-jwt popcharger
-5/16" motordyne iso thermal plenum spacer
-helix test pipes

keOki2k, AAM claims their single exhaust is better, than Stillen, Greddy, & APS's dual? Maybe for a N/A application, but if ever think about going FI, a true dual might be the way to go.
