Default Oil splatter on front of engine..

Looks like the oil is hitting the belts and the belts are spraying it everywhere... Not sure if its power steering pump or something.

Its a small leak if it is one because Im not losing any noticeable amounts of oil from the engine.

Anyone have this issue before I bring it to Nissan?

I will get pics up later tonite...

Its just black oil that looks like it was sprayed from a water bottle on the intake heat shield, coolant resevoir and the plenum cover.

Note I did have pulleys installed by a shop about 3 months ago... they were professionally installed but I heard the crank pulley can leak...

There are 2 parts to the seal. Rear main & Front Main seals. Cost of the gaskets are fairly cheap probably $30-40 each.

They are an absolute ***** to swap out though. Getting the front one done shouldn't be any harder than removing the crank pulley, but replacing the rear main seal... i would imagine the tranny would have to come out for that one. Someone correct me if i am wrong?

Hmm, I was gonna ask as soon as I read the first post, "do you have pulley's?", but just read further down that you did. Your front main seal is most likely leaking. Hope your crank is okay! I really don't see why people don't research more before installing a new crank pulley. There have been plenty of cases where it has harmed the engine. Good luck.

Do the CNR pulleys have the steel insert around the crank? I don't believe they do, and I have seen other threads where the CNRs resulted in a leak. Either way, if they botched the installation job, even a pulley with a steel insert won't save you. BTW, professional simply means you paid for it. In 40 years of working on cars, I have NEVER seen a 'professional' installation rival the work I perform on my cars, and it's not just me. Any real automotive aficionado can outdo any garage when it comes to care and attention to detail. If it is the front main oil seal, either do it yourself or pick another shop than the one that did the pulleys.

Thanks everyone for the help; I degreased the engine tonite and gonna drive the next couple of days and see what happens. Looked clean after driving it all night with a couple of WOT runs just to see.

While cleaning it I looked at the main crank pulley pretty closesly and couldnt see any nuances behind it or anything and it doesnt shift or wobble while the cars running.
