i no when the z hit high 70k the price really starts to drop..i bought mine at the start of june last year with 52k for 20 and now im sitting at 79k lol and when i checked the resale in KBB it said i could only get around 15,000 for my car and i still have to pay more than that .....money pit but i wouldnt spend it any other way.

but other than that all i have seen is about 1 qt of oil gone every 3000 and a new tranny 3 days after i got my car

I burn a quart of Mobil 1 full synthetic after about 4,500 miles. My stock clutch went out at 26k miles. Other than that, I beat the crap out of my car and have had no problems. 34k miles on her...................

My z has 125k miles. Doesn't burn oil. Oil changed every 7500 miles, synthetic. Never left me stranded and still runs great. I wouldn't worry about 75k. As long as it has never had a twin turbo attached to it running boost you'll be good.

I bought my 04 enthusiast with 78k for 11 from a 40 year old man,1 owner and have put 6k miles on since I bought it and have had no problems. Try not to buy a car with a bunch of owners or at at least a young one and you should be fine.

Engine is solid. Bushings are all made of crap and will need better replacement around 100k.

Just like any highly engineered piece of equipment, if you treat it right and maintain it, it will last for damn near forever.
My late grandfather had a lathe from 1966, it runs on belts. He kept it oiled and clean his entire life. My lazy uncle inherited it, and in 6 months of him (ab)using it, it was scrap metal.
I know of two 350Z's down here with well over 200k miles.
With 70k on mine now, if I keep driving it as much as I do, I'll be at 150k+ in less than a year, on an oil burning RevUp engine. In this car's life it's only had fluids and consumables replaced.
I know of a Maxima with the VQ35 in it, 280k, and a Quest 3.5 with almost 300 on it. If the VQ can haul around a van full of kids, driven and maintained by parents who hardly even has time to go on a romantic date, I'm pretty sure with proper maintenance and use, these engines in these cars will outlast the car around it.
