Default Guess What Brand of Oil the Dealer Uses

Had my first oil change and the dealer uses Chevron 10-30. Since I live near the Stillen Company I drove over and asked what they use for dino oil. Guess what, Chevron. They suggested synthetic after the first oil change, Redline. They also suggested using OEM filters because of the anti- drain feature.

that means nothing. What they use varies by dealer and is largely based on cost. The local nissan dealer here in NYC uses the cheap mobil dino oil. Last time i was at a honda dealer i saw they used quaker state dino oil.

Dunno about Chevron, pretty sure it's Castrol, but my dealer uses 5w-30, not 10w-30.

Most dealers and shops buy bulk oil in 250-500 gallon increments to fill the oil dist system. We pay more per quart than price at discount stores because the supplier installs the equipment free and removes the used oil for refurbishing.

It costs us ~~50-75 cents more per quart than you would pay but no mess in dumpster empty bottles and no disposal problems.

We use 10w30 and 5w30 Valvoline plus stock synthetics for customer choices.
