Default how bout a v10

So i was wondering if any people or any shops would ever consider dropping a v10 in the Z? Do you all think it is possible. I know you can get some a 2006 Ford f250 v10 with tranny with under 1000 miles for $3000. That would make some crazy power if boosted too, plus it would sound amazing. We've done v8's and supra engines in the Z, so who's going to be the first to drop a v10?

i doubt you will ever see it happens. search someone else was asking about it a while back. the cost just is not worth it.

I think it'd be a fun experiment. But for probably not for the majority of us simply due to the cost factor as kramykram stated. But i mean, I've seen less creative way to spend money like some of the body kits that are floating around.

thats a LONG block to be squeezing into a Z engine bay man. i dont think its really possible without stupid ammounts of modification to the Z itself. and talk about throwin the balance off...

Forget the V10...

I am suprised no one has suggested this: http://www.h1v8.com/page/page/1562068.htm

Expensive but perfect for a race car I would image.

That engine would make about 330 whp at 10k rpms. Doesn't really sound like an improvement over the VQ. Nice find though.

I sincerely doubt the frame of the Z was designed to hold up to that.

if u are gonna spend that much a mid-engine V-10 would be by far the best thing ever....imagine a V10 under the hatch glass....probably cost almost the same!

Its based on the hyabusa engine(4 cylinder) which is capable of 500 hp with a turbo kit.

One can only image what this engine could do with a turbo kit.

It's getting that power out of 2.7L. It's probably tiny for a V8. 200lbs for the engine is a pretty good weight, not to mention the flat plane, exotic V8, crank configuration.

TK

Edit: I just looked at the price and all it says is the 2.8L is under 30k, wow. F-that.

Waste of money. Too heavy. If you even put a V10 in, GOD DON'T WASTE THE MONEY ON A FORD ENGINE!!! At least do a Viper engine. Something that has some actual power. I'd rather do a turbo and keep the weight low.
Heck, the way things are going, it won't be long till you see a Duramax engine in it one. Still too heavy I know. I'm a Diesel Head though.

I'd give up 30-40ftlbs of torque to make power to 10k rpm.

V10 is WAYYYYY to huge for the Z's engine bay. Theres barely any room for the V8,Where to you expect to put the other 2 cylinders of a V10?V8 is one thing but a V10 come on man.
