why are people saying that the Borla sounds exotic and sort of ferarri'ish??? but at the same time say that is sounds "deeper".
the ferarris I have driven and heard, seem to have a higher pitch to them. Ferarri is a company that DEMANDS a certain sound from thier cars and design their exhaust systems to do so. They seem to sound very open, loud and higher pitched. The V12s (and even the V8 in the modena) sound like they are idoling at about 2000 RPM when they really aren't (yet the 12 will sound that way at lower RPMs because it has so many cylinders).
There is a time when a ferarri will decel with the car in gear that it does have sort of a bit of low sound, OR at idol it will be high, then at first the car accels there is a bit lower sound, followed by the higher piched sound. Is that what you guys are referring to??
I am seriously looking at the Borla Dual (if we start seeing dynos at plus 10+ WHP), BUT do not want to get a the exhaust based on just the sound (I have heard "it may not make more HP, but I love the sound"), this isn't my attitude, I do NOT want it simply based on sound.

IMO, it does not sound like Ferrari's.. It sounds more like a mini-V8 with a low rumbling sound. When you are accererating, you can definitely hear the exhaust sound gets louder, but not higher pitch than stock and not raspy.
No it doesn't sound like any Ferrari or anything else for that matter. It's in a world all it's own. You might say it sounds exotic. To me, and teamed up with a JWT Pop Charger, it simply sounds KILLER!!! I'm tellin' ya', or, I'm wondering actually how completely insane this settup will sound with the addition of, say, the Doug Crawford headers and some down pipes. YES!! A complete new setup like that all the way from the manifolds. Now that makes me salivate!

The two people that posted descriptions of the NISMO exhaust indicated that it had a Ferrari like sound.
