Default Revup Oil Problem

hey guys,
i have a 05 35th anniv. with the revup and I have a problem. I was the road today and I see the oil light come on. I check my oil pressure and its showing less than 10psi. I go to accelerate slowly to pull over and it increases to about 30psi below it falls back below 15psi. I listen to it idle and I can hear the bearing knocking or something making a loud sound. I let it cool down, and checked the oil, and theres plenty in there....nowhere close to bone dry. I am having a buddy come with a trailer to tow her home, but dont know what it could be. I am still under powertrain warranty but not sure if this will be covered....this sucks

any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
Joseph

Doubt it's the pump. However, allthough it's unlikely, it is possible for it to have suffered damage from the oil being under or overfilled at some point, I mean it is a rev-up.

More than likely rings, wet & dry Compression tests will confirm.

When you say you checked the oil and "there's plenty in there", did you check the dipstick reading? I know that takes some time, but it's the only way to know for sure. The idiot light is preset to come on with low oil pressure, so that is concerning. I think you made the right call to pull over and get a tow. If you're still under the PTW, I'd definitely have the dealer check it out!

What do you mean 5 inches from the bottom of the stick? Was the oil level between the two dots or not?

I can see engine damage in your future my friend. You don't check the oil AFTER the oil pressure light comes on, you do it regularly, like during every fillup. It also sounds like you don't know HOW to check the oil level in your engine. The Owner's Manual is your friend, although apparently, not in this case.

I would really like to have a picture of the service tech's face when he sees all the mods on your car. Most dealerships are not cool about that, but let us know how that goes man.

Unless you are "in" with your dealer, you should rip out EVERYTHING. Even downpipes have been used as an excuse. Just my .02
