Default Grounding the engine G35 vs 350z???

My good friend has a 03 g35, I have an 07 350z base. So he read and did the engine grounding that is listed/offered on this site. It reads that it will help eliminate the lag in the response time of acceleration. Is this true for my car too? Does anyone know what I am talking about? He could be on crack... j/k

Its a waste. Don't do it.. Unless you just want to add useless weight to your car, cuz thats all it will do.

Did he tell you exactly what he gained besides some nice looking cables running throughout the engine bay? Chances are.. no. Do a search, you'll find that your money would be better spent on something else. I was in your place a few months ago and now that I have a kit on my car, I see how pointless it is and I will be removing it the next time I get a free moment to do so.

I would argue that it even makes the engine bay pretty. It looks like an octopus is attacking your engine. There is absolutely no reason for engine grounding kits other than to show a profit for the seller, unless you count the "elimination of lag in the response time of acceleration" they produce on the G35s. I understand they make a G35 sound like a Porsche race car. Honestly, once you waste your time and money on something like this, your brain may tell you that you really do see some benefit, but objectively there has never been any evidence to that.

It actually is beneficial if you're running high wattage amps... It's called the "big three" mod. 1) Batt + to Alt, 2) Alt to chassis, 3) Chassis to Batt -. A lot of folks run 2AWG ~ 0AWG cable for this mod.

That may be true. Modding a car by addition of high amperage loads, necessitates the enhancement of the power distribution system. In that case, the existing ground system may be undersized, although that too depends on what was added and where.

Ground to a mounting point (or the alternator body, if you can find a place to secure a lead), and a positive cable from the stock lead to the batt.

Personally, I've never seen a difference with a grounding system on a car (+10WHP and +3 MPG! Sweet!...no.), and it just makes it more of a PITA to work on.

I didn't believe it either, but it does change the 5AT shifting characteristics, so I keep them on for that little change alone...
