Peak TQ is around 4500rpms. If the motor is not making power at 7500 rpms, is it worth it to rev it that high? I think the risks outweigh the rewards.

It makes a big difference to rev 1rst and 2nd out at the drag strip. 3rd gear there is no point.

This is actually easy to decide...

Make a pass shifting at low revs and a second pass shifting at high revs... continue to use the pattern that provided the best elapsed time.
