Default No one will install 4.083 gears!

Well I have called every shop here my city and no one has the correct tool to work on the Z car and swap the gears.

The best part is the stupid *** Nissan Dealerships won't do it because its aftermarket and they don't want to be liable, I even called multiple Nissan Dealerships (out of my city) to check they told me the same thing.

I am so ****ing frusterated right now because I really want these 4.083 gears.

/end pissed of rant

No they don't have the special tool which runs like $350 dollars. Only the dealerships do.

odd, I found like 8 shops in Knoxville and Murfreesboro that would do it. tell the dealership you REALIZE it will void your warranty and that youre fine with that just install the damn thing...lol

I did, he said "We don't want to be liable for aftermarket parts being installed by our shop if something goes wrong"

Btw all 8 of the shops you called had this tool? I found a bunch that quoted me then I called back and asked if they had the right tools, and they realized they didnt..

that was an exaggeration..I talked to Racing Creations, Performance Concepts, and Blindeside Imports..they all had the tools and said they'd swapped in final drives into 300ZX's, S-bodies or 350Z's one.

ended up going with Performance Concepts out here in the boro. Did a great job, good service.

Your lucky, I just called around again and one shop said they could do it because they don't think they need a special tool for any gen Z. Ill bring it in to them and they will say oh your right, and ill say **** you!

U could always drop ur pumpkin and send it out of state for rebuild. Shipping may be $$, but its an option. I sent my pumpkin and a quaife atb and 3.7 fg to Technosquare for rebuild. They charged around 300 for the install/rebuild, but I provided them with all the additional rebuild parts besides lashes.

Special tool or not, a proper final gear rebuild w/out gear whine is not an easy diy, and u have to have access to a variety of nissan lashes.

Dude I have no idea, I will research it some more, for now I went with a True Dual exhaust instead. I will get these later. Mods can close this if they want.

4.083 gears are made by Nissan. They are not aftermarket.

I had mine installed at an Infiniti Dealership.

the only special tool would be this dial indicator

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....r=catalogrotor

to measure the lash

or a pinion depth gauge
