Oil cooler prevent oil burn?

Default Oil cooler prevent oil burn?

well I have my V2 in and after runnin the dragon last night I figured out its burnin oil. Would a greddy or stillen oil cooler help keep the engine from burnin oil under hard use? input?

No... An oil cooler does exactly what it sounds like - cools oil.

If you are burning oil it is because oil is making its way into the combustion chamber, either up past the piston rings or down from the heads. Lower oil temps from an oil cooler present will not prevent this.

Kinda figured that, thought dropping the oil temperatures might help keep it a little thicker and keep it from passing the rings and seals. I know Terra, I already have the V2 in it. it consumed a bit of oil after I ran up through the dragon a few times...waitin to see if it will continue with normal driving after switching to synthetic. If I end up having to get another engine swapped in I might be looking to trade it in...

If you want thicker oil.... buy thicker oil.

^ Pretty much.

Also, that sort of logic is a bandaid on a gunshot wound. If you are burning significant oil, a thicker oil will not save you.
