Default For those w/ the UR Pulley, Belt Question >>

I'm gonna put together a complete, UR pulley/Nissan belt combo for the pulley set (as I did for the 300ZX, 300ZX UR Pulley Set ) , and I’ve heard that some guys have been having trouble w/ the belts sizes the UR recommends... Do you guys need them a bit smaller, or larger? And Approx. how much? Gates Belts are measured in inches Here's how to determine the measurements >> Gates Belts Sizes

Thanx Guys!!

The belt size that runs around the ac is too big. I forget the size, but I installed the one they recommended, and after about a month, I have to replace it. The tensioner is out of adjustment and my belts sqeal almost everytime I start the car. It was good for a couple of weeks but now that it streched a little, I have to replace it.

yes, this information would be very helpful.. If we just replace the crank pulley, what belt(s) do we need to replace? what's the size? Thanks!

don't use the 040355 belt that they suggest, instead use a 040350.......it's a little bit shorter, and fits great.......the other belt they say to use fits fine

Courtesy Nissan is selling the pulleys and the belts you need. Look on their site for info.

Cool, thanks for the info.

My UR 4-pulley set is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully I can put it on next week! :-)

I'm looking at the sheet here and they recommend a 040353 belt (not 355). Is that a typo above, or did they change the recommended size?

I don't agree with their recommended size. I used that one and now my belt squeals almost everytime I start the car. The belt they recommend is too big. The tensioner is out of adjustment. I will replace it with the smaller belt this week as it is really getting annoying .

BTW, if you don't agree with their recommended size I hope you emailed them to let them know the size that works better. It seems odd to complain about it but not request a change from the source.

From the installation sheet, I quote: "If a different size belt/s work better on your vehicle please let us know the manufacturer and size of each belt/s used. You can contact us by phone or e-mail through our web page. Thank You!"

I called and spoke to their technically department the day after I installed the pulley. I had it about a week after it came out. The tech said they will look into it but theirs is working fine. I bitched about it because the tensioner had about 1/2" of adjustment left. After a couple days I had to retighten the belt and now their is no more adjustment. I will be replacing the belt tomorrow with a shorter one. Maybe it was the brand I used but I doubt it. I posted my findings a while ago so no one else would make the same mistake.
