Default Question about the VQ

so i was wondering , and yes i tried searching it first but i got tired of looking.....

How strong is the stock VQ motor in respects to driving it hard, im always worried that im pushing it too hard and i dont get on it too often. With a stock vq, how much punishment can it take usually before it gives you issues?

Stock, modded NA, or FI? Even within those last two categories, there are tons of variations.

VQ will take all you can give it stock (short of a downshift to 2nd at the top of 5th)...modded, depends on your power levels, what kind of condition it's in, what you have done/do for maintenance, etc.

Rather broad question.

+1 stock usually all that you can give it. dont forget to put oil in her lol. Even people that are FI that are pushing 400rwhp on a stock block usually have to work pretty good to blow their car up on a good tune.

Got "tired" of searching?? There's like a gazillion threads on this.

Okay, I'll bite... More than 400whp on a stock block and the rods start folding/snapping.

Do yourself a favor... Sell your car... Now~

as long as you keep oil in it and perform routine maintenance...it can take punishment
only thing is...some people are losing oil real fast
