Default First Oil Change questions (yes I'm a noob)

I've got about 1,000 miles on my 08 Z and am just about to get out of the 1,200 mile break in the manual suggests. Do you guys recommend doing the first oil change before the 3,750 miles that the manual suggest? My thinking is there's got to be a decent amount of break in material in my oil so it should be changed. But the other side of the coin is some cars come with oil additives from the factory for break in purposes. I'm not sure if there's anything special about the oil that comes with our cars form the factory... Also what oil should I use for my first change? I know that's another noob question but after doing some searching I found a million different results. It seems like most people use Mobil 1 synthetic but I could be wrong. I wasn't sure if I should use dyno oil on the first change or just go straight to synthetic. And lastly after I searched oil filters it seems like most guys are using either the Nissan oil filter or the K&N oil filter. I'll most likely use the Nissan oil filter unless some cares to put in their .02 cents...

As you notice there are alot of ****** on this website case example above ...

Just wait till 3750 follow the manual. Thats what i did have no problems... I only use Castrol, OEM filter and its way to early for synthetic IMO.. Break the engine in 7,500 miles or so then switch.

Thanks for the help. Just curious, did you switch to synthetic or dyno oil at 3750?

O.K. just my two cents, only my opinion and what I did with my car.
First oil change at 1000 miles with a decent brand dino oil (castrol GTX is a good choice!).
Then drove for another 3000 miles and switched to synthetic.
Filter choices I like are Mobile 1 extended, Wix gold, Amsoil ep!

Good luck, it sounds like you really want to take care of your car like I did,
thats awsome, find Resolute on here, he is the oil guru!

rule of thumb, it does not hurt the car to change the oil. unless you do something wrong.

if it makes you feel better about yourself, then change it. otherwise you can just follow the owner's manual ... it hasn't let me down yet.

So then there's no additives in the oil from the factory?

There's nothing special about the factory oil. The factory recommended oil change intervals are very conservative from a wear standpoint, so changing oil earlier is a waste of money in my opinion.

Thanks, but just curious. Some car manufacturers do put some additives in right?
