Default So are the 300 hp motors just junk

Heres my question. I bought an 06 last summer used. Yes I found out it is one of the shitty oil consumers. I read most of the post about the replacement motor, but don't seem that thrilled with it. Sounds like smoke and mirrors. Has anyone had their motor rebuilt and does the same problem persist like the replacement motors? Like the car but am not havin something in the driveway that burns a **** load of oil and the dumb bastards who built it can't fix the problem. If there isn't a solution I just won't buy another nissan and go drop a duece on their door step.

The replacement engines are good.

It was a faulty piston ring IIRC.

HR's don't appear to have the consumption problems. If you build your motor your issues should also stop

My rev-up is running strong. Consumes @ 1/4qt per 1000 miles. My old '04 non-revup did the same though...

I have a G35 Revup and never had any problem. Now that I'm boosted I consume about 1/2 quart every 3000miles which is normal..

06 here.

it used to burn 1qt every 1k miles, i then switched to castrol motorsport tws 10w-60 and it stopped.

i will wait until i have a built motor to drop in. i am not interested in seeing how poorly my local nissan dealer can further mismanage this problem.

Actually I have the replacement engine and still burning oil. Not as bad as on my old engine, but still more than I should be

I have to agree. If I was burned by Nissan, I certainly would not do it again. It would be like asking to get punched in the face again, then complaining that you got punched in the face again.
