Default Voltage Issue????

I posted this question in the repairs section but was not getting very many responses.
So here it goes....

My car seems to hover right around the 14 mark on the gauge but will slip under it once it has gotten warm. It appears to be around 13 plus volts when just sitting after it warms up and raises when you are driving. Not right away but it does seem to pop up rapidly, it also seems to fall a little if I hammer it aswell. It does this with the lights on or not, if that matters at all.

Last year I had an issue where a few of the radiator fan wires were cut after having the A/C fixed. They managed to rub through on the power steering pump pulley. The wires were soldered back together and covered once the issue was discovered. I also replaced the battery due to the low voltage issue. As well as it failing when it was tested with a battery tester.

I have in order to rectify the problem had the alternator checked and it is putting out good amperage under load. I have also tried to examine the fuseable links and they seem to be intact. The car starts and runs great but once it has been driven awhile it starts to have a voltage issue. I have checked the battery and it is around 12.38volts when the car is not running.

Any idea what the alternator should be putting out under load?

Any help would be appreciated.

THANX

not really sure what this thread is about. sounds like everything is normal and your alternator is working/charging correctly.

I would have to say my main problem is that the Voltage gauge is reading lower then 14 volts at times......

I would advise some additional electronic [trade school or college] education before members purchase 230-610 volt battery vehicles or prepay your casket.
Never trust the accuracy of an oem dash voltmeter when 0.1 [even 0.5] volt accuracy is desirable.
