Anyone have clutch fluid overheating issues with aftermarket headers in hot weather?

That's nice.

Compare that to stock, the shielding is a joke and I had issues with stock cats and pipes:

Notice in the second pic the so-called heat shield is cooked (like burnt tinfoil).

my questions are: what do you think is the problem? also, as my car is still under warranty and my dealer knows of the problem, should i have them take another look. i had them check it out when the problem first developed, but they could not duplicate it. should i tell them that i just installed the new clutch and SS line? i am thinking i should as that will save them alot of time and money. please throw some advice my way.
I think your problem is either you need to switch to a higher temp fluid (which is most likely the case) or your master cylinder or slave cylinder is going out. That being said I would have the dealer look at the master/slave cylinder. And yes you should tell them about the mods you have made, none of which should have anything to do with the problem you are having.

What I have learned from my experience with this problem is that there is only a small amount of fluid in the system. Aftermarket headers produce more heat and are generally closer to the clutch fluid line. Couple that with summer time heat and fluid that degrades over time and it's no wonder there is a problem.

So far since I switched to a higher temp fluid (Motul) I haven't had the problem reoccurr.

If it's seals are weak some of the fluid goes around the seals but doesn't necessarily leak.

That's where I'd go next.
I need to take a closer look at my slave cylinder too just to make sure it's not a problem.

Great thread, good info. Sounds like i solved my spongy clutch prob. I live in Sydney and as summer came on, higher temps and after parking for a while the clutch would go all spongy. I started driving got some air flow and the pedal came back to normal.
So some better fluid and SS line on the way. Nissan Dealer did nothing and Nissan Australia have yet to respond to my complaint. Ah Well its maybe the are on holiday.
Happy New Year...
