Unhappy Oil Psi

If anyone can help me trying to see if i got a problem with my engine i'm getting about 15psi after the cars fully warmed up I'm running m1 10w30
I'm pretty sure the gauge works cause once i punch it hits 100 and 60 crusining

Your pressure is supposed to be a lot lower at idle. Granted that might be too low.

lol @ n00bs teaching n00bs.

15's pretty normal if you've been racing the engine... oil gets thinner due to the heat so when idling the pressure will be around 15. When its not been enjoying high revs and is up to normal operating temp it probably should be around 25. If it's 15 when you start your engine cold (sitting 3+ hours) then thats bad.

It's normal mate... Oil is a lot like syrup, you know when you put syrup in the microwave to warm it up, then it gets really thin and runny... Oil is the same way. All the high speed movement of the internals cause friction and create heat, thus making the oil thin. Unless your pressure is like 1 or 3... or below 0 or something, you're fine. Oil gets thinner when it gets hot. Once it has cooled back to normal engine op temp it should be back to its 25-30 or so...

Turns out the pressure cant go below 0 on the readout. So if its at naught after you've been driving around then either there is a sensor problem or something is seriously phuqed with the engine.

It depends on oil temp, oil weight/brand, rpms. My engine on Castrol 10W-40 would drop to mid teens. On Mobil1 15W-50/0W-40 mix never drops below 25...
