Default After clutch install, notchy shifting

I had JWT clutch installed and noticed that I am having trouble getting clutch into 5th and is notchy in 3rd. Do you guys have a solution, is it the clutch?

Nah there is an adjustment on your pedal rod that goes into the master slave cylinder. its a 12mm nut you just loosen and adjust the rod a bit. you will see the threads on it.

Questions:
  • What year is your Z?
  • Is the problem grinding when going into the problem gear, or is it just hard to shift?

I don't think it's the new clutch.

Hmmm... If in fact it's the clutch, I would expect problems going into any gear. But, I suppose that it could be a slight difference between the gears that shows-up on a tighter tolerance with the new clutch. Try adjusting the clutch (as kramykram suggests).

I also have an 04 with a JWT clutch and flywheel. Mine has the same exact problem, its like you have to find fifth gear no. Its almost like, i dont know, it moved to the left a little. I always seem to miss the gear to the right. Anyways, I dosent slide into gear as easily as it used to.

There is a shifter plate that must be put in correctly or it will prevent or make going into 5th difficult.

yep, definitely the first thing I'd check. It's the metal guide plate that is rectagular shaped that goes under the center console
