Anyone running an Exedy Clutch and ACT flywheel?
Hey guys I'm trying to do my research before ordering my new setup. How many people are running the Exedy OEM clutch and ACT streetlite flywheel? I lost 100$ on my last setup, cause I didn't feel like going through the trouble with JWT. If anyone has had any problems with installation or use of this setup help me out.

was there any video taken of the noise it was making? I know the setup I have in my car (OS Giken) makes a racket...but its completely normal. The lighter the flywheel, the noisier it will be, and 2 piece unit, which uses an aluminum frame, is going to make more noise than a 1 piece steel unit. But it should be understood, that every single flywheel on the market is noisy...it all depends on your vantage point of what acceptable/unacceptable is
Well they said it was making a sound like when you jake brake. When you downshift to slow down, when you were just normal driving. When he put the nismo flywheel in all of the sound went away. It would barely stay running.

I've just finished my break-in period (750miles) with an Exedy Stage 1 clutch + ACT Streetlite FW in my 03 6mt Touring/Performance Z. I used a clutch install guide from the DIY section on this site, which really helped! My only advice is to take your time when doing the swap. It took me about a day&half to complete by myself, with the exception of removing/replacing the tranny with some help (my pops gave me a hand). If you compare the difficulty level to other car brands, Nissan did a fantastic job in engineering a machine that is easy to work on. The setup is great though! I've got minimal chatter below 2K rpm's, nothing too annoying. I've noticed the engine revs a tad faster, and pulls a little harder across the powerband. The only downside to the whole operation was relearning how to drive my car!! I've also noticed that shifting is more positive as well. I used to have a terrible 3rd gear grind when accelerating aggressively, but after the install, it doesn't grind hardly at all. I've done some hard launching since the breakin, and I can safely say that the car flys like a blow dart! Clutch engagement is at about 30% in clutch travel after the breakin period is over. I hope this review helps you in your decision, I definitley recommend it!!
