![Question](https://my350z.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I just recently purchased a 2004 350, I was reading a post about clutches and the noise that the lightweight flywheel makes. When i leave a stoplight it makes a loud rattling grinding noise that I thought was a bearing in the trans going out it only makes the noise when starting out or if I lug the by mistake. Is there any way to tell if it has a lightweight flywheel without pulling the trans, someone installed a stillen supercharger and now I wonder if they changed the flywheel and clutch, any help would be great

Sounds like a LW flywheel for sure. The only way to tell for sure is contacting previous owner. I did a JWT flywheel & clutch several years ago & the situation you described sound like mine to a degree. Different Z's & different LW flywheels have different sound characteristics as far as the "level" of noise with flywheels - mine's not bad at all - I've heard "noisier" one and "quieter" ones. As a rule of thumb, the noisier it is the lighter it is. Not much help, but .........
