Default Transmission grinding question

I have a 2003 Enthusiast with 63xxxx miles on it. Like many before me, I'm having the dreaded tranny grinding issue. When I searched I saw that just about everyone is having the issue with 3rd and 5th gear. My grinding issue is coming with 6th gear. Has anyone else had it with 6th gear only?

Also, it won't grind if I push the clutch in, go to neutral, depress clutch, then shift to 6th with no gas. So I've been doing this for the time being.

I assume I'm on the road to owned-ville with this. My question is, how much does the procedure cost to fix this since I'm out of warranty.

If I went and bought an extended warranty this weekend, do you think that would cover this?

i'm having the same problem too except its my 3rd gear and 6th gear. my car was in the shop for about a week (im expecting to get it back today!) i got the Z 3 weeks ago so i had the 30 day warranty so they put in a new transmission for me for free. after the 30 day warranty expires, i have a three year warranty where if anything goes wrong with the car, i will only pay 75 bux and the dealership will pay for the rest. As for you, it all depends on what the warranty agrees for you to pay and what it will cover.
