Default Loctite: What kind for Plenum and Oil Pan?

I have my plenum and oil pan off for two obviously unrelated projects, and I'm just wondering what kind of Loctite I should be using.

I've read both on Driver and on here, and it seems like half say blue, half say red.

I have had to take apart my plenum in the past since putting on my spacer, so I bought blue, but I'd rather have those plenum bolts not come loose on me.

How much should I use, regardless of what color? A few drops per bolt before screwing it in?

I would have said blue.

just a line going longways on the threads will do the trick.

I went on the website, and I read through all of the 20 or so variations of Loctite (didn't realize there were so many), and I narrowed down what I thought would be the 2 most suitable. The plenum, and obviously the oil pan, are both susceptible to oil coming in contact with the hardware, and these two forms of Loctite are okay to use with oil.

Loctite 266: http://www.henkelna.com:80/cps/rde/x...UID=0000000I3P

or

Loctite 246:

What I currently have, and have used on 1 plenum bolt so far: Loctite 242:

Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe all I need is the Loctite 246. It's still the removable type, but will take some heat and some oil. I know they say that the red Loctite's seal can be broken with heat and hand tools, so maybe running the engine first then trying to get the bolt loose would be sufficient to break the seal if I need to take either part off again. My only concern is the fragility of our aluminum blocks to torque. Maybe the permanent Loctite will damage it upon removal because it's doing its job too well. Thoughts?

One last concern: Some of the variations say that they are good for use on parts that are under a lot of vibration. The plenum and the oil pan shouldn't be considered one of these, right? For example: http://www.henkelna.com:80/cps/rde/x...UID=0000000I3X

I have to use some form of thread lock for my piece of mind. My plenum bolts have come loose before.
