Correct - and that engine was mostly in '06 manual trans cars - I think some 05's had it as well (again - man trans only). My 06 auto has had zero issues - just an occasional rattle I only hear w/the top up. So my fix....leave the top down as much as possible!

tell me this John... why if the cars all have the same engines the manual trannys vehicles have the OC problem? strikes me as odd.... ???
That explains a whoooole lot! I recently drove my '06 m/t Z from Norfolk, VA to St Petersburg (~900miles) and found that when I got to Jacksonville I was low on oil. Being the good owner that I am, I quick filled it w/ a quart and called it good. When I got to St Pete, the issue was back. I took the car to the dealer who quickly stated that it was extremely low on oil. They proceeded to do an oil change and conduct a 1,000 mile oil consumption test. I have approx 200 miles to go and it seems fine. The big question is: if this is a common issue w/ most Z's, is Nissan doing anything about it (recall?) or are they stiffing the bill to owners who are out of warranty?
