Several issues, please help!
First of all I have done the searches and research. I just want some help trying to confirm what the hell is going on!
I bought my 2005 Perf Z with 8,000miles back in march.
I am now almost at 23,000miles, Yes I know I put alot of miles on!
I noticed around 15,000miles that when I would clutch in, and try to put the transmission into a gear it didnt want to be in, for example, trying to go into 3rd easily above 40 it will whine and feel like theres something pushing the shifter back. I have heard from a few people this is probably the synchros going out.
Also, until about 10mins of warmup or driving, my 5th gear always grinds when downshifting from 6th.
My transmission feels VERY notchy lately.
Also, just standing next to the passenger door you can hear a hissing sound coming from the transmission, I have heard of this being referred to as the teapot sound, which warrants a replacement.
In the last 1000 Miles I have noticed the following on the clutch/clutch pedal
1. The inch or so of play at the top has increased to around 2inches and when you press it with your hand it sticks pretty well for a split second, you would never notice it with your foot really.
2. My clutch pedal once completely dropped to the floor. It came back after I shut the car off, then restarted a few minutes later
3. while pressing the clutch down I feel some sort of resistance. Imagine sliding a metal solid core wire through a rubber sleeve but theres little pieces of something hitting the wire on the way,it kind of crackles and can be felt by my foot and especially my hand.
4. Transmission makes a nice popping sound every 5-8seconds when idle...cold or completely warm.
5. I swear to god, maybe I am just nuts, but not enough of the engines power is getting from the crank to the wheels...I feel sometimes like **** is slipping or loosing too much power.
Sorry about this being so long guys. Part of the problem is the two dealerships within reasonable distance to me won't do jack **** for me.. They are owned by the *********** known as autonation. please help me figure out what the hell is going on.
