Do like 2 oil changes before u goto the dealer....I mean, change the oil, drive for an hour, then change the oil again. U have to get all traces of emulsified oil out of the motor. Im a mechanic and we look for that stuff. U might be able to pull it off.
TAKE EVERYTHING OFF THATS NOT STOCK!!!!

Listen for noise, then tear down. Drain oil and inspect, start from valve covers and keep going. Our biggest goal is to find out how it happened....Espicially if its a warranty job.
Although im a Marine mechanic. We do stuff a little different then in the Automobile world. But same concept.
You might have good luck getting it covered being that all service centers are slow as ballz and will lie just to get the job. Just go there and say u dont know what happened, the engine just started knocking..Bring all service slips and proof that u take excellent care of the car. Make sure its clean and well taken care of looking. Dont make up any stories as to how it happened.

I don't have service slips for the oil change because I bought the oil at my local auto shop and I didn't really take care of the reciepts. I barely got the car in March, what kind of slips would I have to show.

hahaha that made me laugh a dealer wanting to pay out of pity... they would overcharge before taking pity lol...... but yea sounds like you need a new short block fer sure.... so lie your *** off and you don't know what happened.... if they ask for receipts say you lost them or get some from your buddies or some one who purchased oil from wal- mart and say you did the oil yourself, it's always worth a shot... and if that dealership turns you down take it to another... or have a friend thats a mechanic at a dealer that would lie for you and push the warranty threw.... I worked for dealerships as a mechanic too... but for Mercedes, and it's all the same... unless you make really good friends with the service writer... either way good luck
