Default sqeaking noise when ac is on...

Every morning I start the car and turn the ac to heat the cabin, Theres a squeaking noise thats noticable only from the front of the car. At first it was only heard from the front passenger tire. But now it can be heard from the front nose as well.
Any idea what it could be? Is it an easy fix, like a bolt that just needs tighting? Should I worry about it or is it normal with all nissans.
Its my first nissan and its an 06 with 23k on it. auto trans. if that would help.

Thanks again in advanced

sounnds like your belt is loose...and the A/C compressor is adding enough drag to the belt to cause it to slip...thus squeal. Tighten your belt and you'll probably be fine.

Thanks SweetDreamZ! Hope thats the cure for this annoying mess. I will double check all bolts. Do you happen to know which exact bolt it happens to be? Dont mean to be a pest, but just want to make sure I got it right. Its my first import car.

Also, what do you think made it happen? Do you think its from driving it hard?

Thanks again for the help!

it could be a squirrel. no lie.

my 5th grade teacher had a squirrel living in his engine bay. one day when he pulled in (I was a crossing guard), A SQUIRREL jumped out of his ****ing car as he pulled in to the parking lot.

do you park near trees at all? it could be a moose as well. a very small moose.

I'm not implying that a bolt is loose....moreso that the BELT is loose. There is a tensioner pulley that is on the bottom side of the belt area...kinda more towards the passenger side of the car (if i remember correctly). You just have to loosen the bolt that locks that pulley into place...then turn the adjusting screw for that pulley, then lock that pulley back into place with it's bolt. This is assuming you have a DE motor, not the HR. I have no clue about the HR motor.

If you can't figure it out, you might want to just take it to a shop and have them tighten it. I can't imagine that it would cost THAT much.

Thanks guys! Appreciate all the feedback. SweetDreamZ, Thanks, I will check on it as soon as the rain lets up.

Surfcity40, Thanks I dont listen to kids nosense anyways, But I hope that its only the belt/fan issue. Its a beatiful car and just hate to hear it when its backing out of my driveway. Sounds like a bucket.

MotorMouth, Thanks for the heads up! I found a squirrel and shot him with my .45 and peeled his skin and bbq'd him for lunch, But the noise is still there, so it must be the belt like the gentlemen were saying!
Thanks anyways!

at least you got a delicious, free lunch out of it.

and yes, it's belt squeak most likely. when the temp changes (if it does in your part of californicaland) this sort of thing happens. the tensioner is super easy to adjust.
