Default Better LSD?

Newb question..

I've read for the past 8 months about people "upgrading" their limited slip differential but I have failed to understand why anyone would swap it if it isn't broken.. What are the benefits of getting a "better" one? I currently own an 08' Enthusiast.. believe it comes with a VLSD..

Because clutch pack type lsd's and helical typle lsd's offer better performance and longevity (The viscous liquid inside the OEM diff is not serviceable--if it heats up enough due to aggressive driving, it will lose its function).

Many with VLSD, may wait until it poops out and then upgrade--maybe that's what you should do if you are happy with the oem lsd.

The stock VLSD is fine for normal driving NA. If your tracking your Z or FI then it is a must to have a clutch type LSD in my opinion. As stated, the stock VLSD can heat up and wear out with time along with poor lock up.

Between the SuperCharger, Autocross, track, and drift, my Vlsd barely seems to work anymore.

^Like Escobar said, if it's normal daily driving, you should be fine.
